The Funding Scheme aims to support and encourage local people to
create opportunities for the community to participate in arts
related activities. Applications can be made for amounts of up to
$5000 and the scheme is administered by the Palmerston North City
Council.
"Previous applications have attracted a wide variety of
projects," Adrian Turner, project co-ordinator said.
"Projects as diverse as the Operatic Society's presentation of
the musical Chess, to an environmental arts radio show, to a floral
art exhibition and educational art programmes have benefited from
Creative Communities funding."
Applications are available from the Council website here,
Customer Service Centre Squareside, any branch of the Library, or
you can ring the Council on 356 8199.
To register please email Adrian Turner project coordinator at adrian.turner@pncc.govt.nz
or phone 356 8199.
An information meeting for those who register will be held at
12.15pm on 30 August. This will be an opportunity to hear advice on
how to make a good application as well as ask questions about
specific projects you are seeking funding for.
Applications close on Monday 8 October at 4pm. All applications
will be considered.
