Residents' Survey

We use surveys to find out what residents think about Palmerston North City Council reputation and services.

The Residents' Survey is an independent survey carried out by Key Research Ltd every year. The views and opinions of residents are included in all our planning, especially the Long-Term Plan.

The survey asks how satisfied residents are with the Council and our services, and their perceptions of our city. It is conducted over four quarters of the year to even out the effects of one-off or topical events. Over the year, at least 400 respondents are randomly invited from the electoral roll to participate in the survey. Respondents reflect the demography (gender and age structure) of our city’s population.

The results of the surveys help elected members and staff provide better services. We can also benchmark the results in our city with those of other cities.
