We are making some improvements on the green space at Adderstone Reserve in Aokautere.
We retained Adderstone Reserve following a proposal last year to rezone part of it for housing. During that process, you told us that preserving the green space was important to you, along with adding features like dog recreation areas, planting, and pathways.
We’re bringing your vision to life.
We sought feedback and held a planning session with neighbours in the area in August to fine-tune our plans ahead of construction. Most of your suggestions were for pathways, planting, rubbish bins and to maintain a safe dogs off-leash area.
Construction will take place by the end of summer.

We have a budget of about $85,000 for a range of improvements, so this isn’t enough to build any large structures such as toilets, basketball courts or playground equipment. These types of facilities are planned in other future reserves in Aokautere that are closer to more housing.
