Pursuant to section 15 of the Reserves Act 1977, Palmerston North City Council is proposing to exchange part of the reserve land at Waterloo Park (being part of Part Lot 44 DP 22620 held in title WN8C/884) for new reserve land in the Roxburgh Crescent area.
This exchange will only go ahead if the rezoning of that industrial area to residential housing is approved.
The part of Waterloo Park proposed to be exchanged is approximately 1,300m² (an area of 11m x 120m) that currently acts as a buffer between the housing on Tilbury Avenue and the industrial land in Roxburgh Crescent. The new reserve would form part of a new entrance to the Manawatū River Park within the rezoned area for housing.
A plan of the proposed land exchange and further details is available from pncc.govt.nz/WaterlooExchange or by contacting the Parks Planning Team.
Council officers will be available at the Hokowhitu Scout Hall at 9 Ayr Place on Monday 17 April from 6pm to 8pm to discuss the proposal.
We are inviting submission on the above proposal. Any objections will be carefully considered and used to inform the decision on whether to proceed with the proposed land exchange.
Any person or organisation wishing to make a submission or objection to the proposed exchange of the reserve may do so no later than 4pm on Wednesday 17 May 2023 by using the online form at pncc.govt.nz/WaterlooExchange, or by emailing: submission@pncc.govt.nz
