Public consultation opens on the draft Animals and Bees Bylaw

Palmerston North City Council is reviewing its Animals and Bees Bylaw and welcomes submissions on the draft changes it has proposed.

The purpose of the bylaw is to prevent nuisance that can be caused by keeping animals or bees in Palmerston North.

The Statement of Proposal is available on our Council website, the Customer Service Centre, or at any Council library. If you would like a Statement of Proposal sent to you, you can call 06 356 8199 for this to be arranged. 

Making a submission

You can make a submission until 4pm on Monday 12 February 2024.

This can be done using our online form at pncc.govt.nz/animals, emailing your submission to submission@pncc.govt.nz, or calling us on 06 356 8199 to have your submission recorded for you. Hard copy submission forms are available at our Customer Service Centre, any of the Council libraries, or on request. Written submissions can be delivered to the Customer Service Centre located at Te Marae o Hine The Square, or posted to:

Next steps

The Council will consider all submissions it receives, and plans to hear those who wish to speak to their submissions at a hearing on 21 February 2024.
