New building consent application portal

We have moved to a new customer platform for building consent applications, Objective Build. It replaces our previous AlphaOne portal. To make the transition as smooth as possible, this page provides you with everything you need to know to get started.

Please note, you'll be able to access the new system from 5pm on Friday 3 May. Any existing applications underway in AlphaOne will be transitioned into the new system over the weekend and available on Objective Build from Monday.

Objective Build has been designed in consultation with hundreds of applicants across New Zealand and is designed to improve the building consent process. Palmerston North City Council has invested in this platform to provide you with time-saving functionality and deliver a better all-round service.

Getting started with Objective Build

To start using Objective Build, you’ll need to register online and set a username and password. To ensure consistency with your current applications you should use the same email address when registering to the new Build Portal.

All current consents are linked to your existing email address, associated with your Real Me account that you previously used in Alpha One and will be automatically transferred to the new system. Real Me will no longer be required to log in.

To help you use the new platform, you can use these handy tutorial videos with step-by-step guides on how to register, log in and find your way around the new platform.

New features make it a more streamlined process for all

Objective Build makes applying for and managing building consents consistent, transparent, and efficient. It is a central hub for everything related to your building consents – with content centrally located and easily shared.

The new features include:

  • Manage multiple consents, across multiple councils within one system, using a single login.
  • Be notified of new Requests for Information with the data going instantly to council when you hit submit.
  • When applying for your consent, you’re also able to apply for a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC), a Certificate of Acceptance (COA), Project Information Memorandums (PIM) and more.
  • You can add and remove people to your organisation, giving them the ability to view consents, track their status and be notified of relevant updates – helping keep everyone in the loop.
  • See exactly where a consent is in the process, as well as any outstanding actions for everyone involved.
  • Receive updates as changes happen to your consent to avoid delays
  • Create a library of your most common consents and use them as templates so you don't have to keep filling in the same information
  • Use the filter tool to search for consents faster
  • Manage all communication with the council directly from Objective Build, including responding to Requests for Information (RFI).
