Pay a parking ticket

If you get a parking ticket, you have 28 days from the date it is issued to pay the fine, or submit an appeal.

Our parking officers monitor metered car parks from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 3pm Saturdays.

They also monitor for illegal parking and breaches of the Land Transport Act, from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday and Tuesday and 8.30am to 9pm Wednesday to Saturday.

Please note we don't accept part-payments. Each ticket must be paid for in full.

Pay your parking ticket now

Parking tickets are usually available to pay online within 24 hours. If your parking ticket was issued less than 24 hours ago, you may need to try again tomorrow. You can only access our online payment gateway within New Zealand.

Pay at our Customer Service Centre

You can pay by cash, credit card or Eftpos at our Customer Service Centre on the Square.

Pay by internet banking

Log into your internet banking and, using the payments section, search for PN CITY COUNCIL-PARKING as the payee/biller.

It will then prompt you to add the correct particulars, code and reference:

  • Particulars: the vehicle registration number
  • Code: "Parking Inf"
  • Reference: notice number (you can find this on your parking ticket)

Please note, it is your responsibility to ensure the payment is correctly referenced.  Failure to do so could result in the payment being unidentified and further steps taken to retrieve payment of the fine.

If you've lost your ticket

You'll need the number of your infringement notice to pay. Contact us and we can look it up. Email parkinginfo@pncc.govt.nz with your vehicle registration number or call us on 06 356 8199

What happens if I don't pay?

If you’re having trouble paying for your ticket, please let us know and we can work with you on the best possible solution.

Payment is due 28 days after the ticket is issued. If you don't pay your fine within this time, we'll send a reminder notice to the address where the vehicle is registered and give you another 28 days.

After that, we'll lodge your infringement with the Ministry of Justice for debt collection by the Courts. You will have to pay any extra costs.
