Trade waste fees and charges

Here are the fees we charge for trade waste, including fixed and variable charges for conditional and consented trade waste discharges.

All fees and charges include GST. Effective 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022.

Administrative charges (fixed)

Compliance monitoring: conditional consents

Fee to recover inspection and monitoring costs of trade premises: $135 per sampling and analysis

Compliance monitoring: grease trap sampling fee

Fee to recover inspection and sampling costs of grease traps: $120 per inspection

Trade waste application fee

Fee to recover cost of processing new or renewal applications: $1,600 

Consent processing fee

Fee to recover cost of processing extraordinary applications: $195 per hour

Re-inspection fee

Fee to recover cost of re-inspection of individual trade premises: $195 per inspection

Permitted consents for grease traps, oil interceptors, amalgam traps

Charge to recover administration and monitoring cost of grease traps, oil interceptors and other treatment devices, and amalgam traps at dental surgeries: $120 per year

All other premises (conditional) plus trade waste charges

Charge to recover administration and monitoring cost of trade waste consents: $1,320 per year

Discharge administration fee

Charge to recover administration and monitoring costs of permitted customers with discharges exceeding 5m3 a day: $600 per annum 

Trade waste database licence fee

Charge for access to online database: $345 per year
