Council launches phone app for reporting issues

Friday February 15 2019

Now you can report issues to Palmerston North City Council using the smartphone app Snap Send Solve.

Photo shows person using the app on their smartphone. Embedded text says "Reporting local issues is now a snap."

Snap Send Solve is our smartphone app to help make reporting issues easy. It's free to download via the App Store or Google Play.

Just open the app, create a profile, snap a photo of the issue and send us a few details. We’ll quickly get onto solving it.

The Snap Send Solve app works by identifying the location the photo is taken using your phone's GPS data.

It sends an email to the Council from your email address, including the incident type, notes, address of incident, photo, and contact details.

The report is then logged with the relevant team at Council.

The more information you provide, the better we can help isolate and investigate the issue.

“Council is focused on delivering customer-centric service and the Snap Send Solve app makes it easier for people to send us photos of issues they want to report to us,” says Chris Dyhrberg, PNCC Chief Customer and Operating Officer.

“We encourage people to use the app and report issues, so we can respond quickly. The whole community benefits if we get told about issues quickly.”

Types of incidents we encourage you to report

  • cracked footpaths
  • fallen tree branches
  • potholes and other road issues
  • graffiti
  • dumped rubbish
  • broken playground equipment
