During a routine check of park play equipment in January, we noticed one of the poles at the Linklater Park flying fox was moving. As safety is paramount to us, we immediately closed the flying fox.
The equipment’s manufacturers have been investigating and intend to replace the poles on the fox.
New poles are currently being made and will be installed in the last week of February. It will then take a few weeks for the concrete to set and testing to occur.
The fox won’t be reopened until we are completely satisfied it is safe to use.
We’ve loved seeing how much you all enjoy the flying fox and we intend to have it ready in time for the Kelvin Grove Community Day at the end of March.
