Checking the health of our waterways for safe swim spots is as important for your dog as it is for you.

Horizons Regional Council monitors the health of waterways in the region and reports high levels of toxic algae in Kahuterawa Stream.

If your dog is unwell after contact with water in the stream, please see your vet immediately.

For more information, see the safe swim spots map on the Horizons website, which has the most up-to-date data on the health of our region's most popular sites.
