How to enrol

You can enrol to vote anytime. Find out how.

If you're enrolled for the general election for Parliament, you'll automatically be placed on Council's electoral roll.

Check to see if you're enrolled or need to update your details

Enrolment for the by-election is open up to 4pm on Tuesday 22 December 2020. 

You can also:

  • download an enrolment form [PDF 406KB]
  • Visit a Post Shop
  • phone free on 0800 36 76 56
  • text your name and address to free text 3676 and the form will be posted out to you.

If your name is not on the final electoral roll, you may still qualify to cast a special vote.

Ratepayer electors

Ratepayers who are not residents of Palmerston North but pay rates on a property within the city may be entitled to enrol on the Ratepayer Electoral Roll.

Companies, businesses and societies which are ratepayers may also nominate an elector to vote on their behalf. Any such elector nominated must reside outside Palmerston North.

Any alterations or additions to the Ratepayer Roll should be made by completing and returning the enrolment form for ratepayer electors.
