Plan Change C: Kikiwhenua Residential Area

This plan change will rezone the first stage of a new area to the west of the city to enable more housing. The new area is referred to as the Kikiwhenua residential area, part of the wider Kakatangiata growth area.

Plan change will become operative in January 2021

The Environment Court has released its final decision on Plan Change C, which will become operative on 18 January 2021.

Kikiwhenua residential area

Rezoning land in this area will enable about 220 new homes to be built, fronting the Mangaone Stream.

Appeal process

People who have made a submission on this plan change may appeal to the Environment Court within 30 working days of being served with notice of the decision.
